I like the concept, and in some instances, the execution of this book. I do not think it is as bad as some other reviewers have indicated. I understand and appreciate what the author sought to do with this work. I do agree with the following:
The story could benefit from a good editor.
This topic is difficult to adequately address in this short story format.
This subject matter cries out for more 'inner voice'. I wanted to delve deeper into character motivations (and characterization, in general). I think the multiple POVs further separated me from the thoughts and motivations of the MCs.
In the end, I feel like I was told a good story. I would rather be part of a good story.
Don't get me wrong - I do believe this author has potential and I WILL be looking for future works from him. Hopefully next time I'll be more drawn in by the characters and be better able to understand the complexities of the relationships.
